Program Outcomes

Communication Competence

Communication is essential for forming and maintaining relationships. Without communication, it is impossible to build meaningful connections with others. Communication also helps us to understand one another and can help to resolve conflicts. Additionally, communication is necessary for collaboration and teamwork. It is important to be able to communicate effectively in order to work together and achieve goals.

I chose this artifact because it was a great product of constructive criticism. The whole class had to come up with a persuasive speech and we all helped each other perfect our speech outlines for a much more effective speech. My classmates had a lot to say about my speech outline and it was great for me because I was able to create a better speech. This assignment required the most communication I think out of any assignment I have done. There was a lot of rules and guidelines to creating a speech outline like this and I think this shows my ability to follow those rules and guidelines well.

I learned valuable communication skills in this assignment. I also learned how to criticize others while being constructive and not hurting their feelings. I learned to take other peoples criticism and use it to improve my work. This takes me closer to my goals because I can now take criticism and use it for my own benefit as well as give criticism to help others improve.

Creative problem solving

I chose this artifact because it showcases my problem solving skills. Creative problem solving is one of the most important skills to have. Problems in life are impossible to avoid and you need to know how to solve them. Sometimes you need to get creative in order to get past them.

In this artifact, I learned how to solve a very complex problem which is the problem of climate change. In the assignment, I detail what the government is doing wrong and what they should do to address climate change. The most important thing I took away from this assignment was that there are many ways to solve problems but to find the best solution, you have to be creative.

This brings me closer to completing my goal of graduation because finishing all of these classes requires lots of creative problem solving skills. I aspire to be someone who can fix anything and solve any problem someday.

Understanding the Arts (AA), or Mathematical Literacy (AS)

I chose this artifact because I felt like it was a great example of my skills in Mathematical literacy. This assignment was the final writing assignment for the class and was a lot of fun to make. I learned a few things from this including everything I need to know about the Unit Circle. One thing that stuck out to me when I wrote this was the age of the Unit Circle. I was amazed that people from thousands of years ago could know about this incredibly complex concept.

This assignment represents a big part of my journey in SPCC because of the challenges that math posed to me in my time at SPCC. Math was the toughest subject for me and the biggest challenge. This assignment was the cherry on top because it was the final activity for the class. I loved the instructor and I think that was my favorite part of the class. The instructor made learning math easy for anyone, even me.

Mathematical literacy is an important part Mathematical literacy is an essential skill for success in today's world. It is important for individuals to be able to understand and use mathematical concepts in order to make informed decisions, solve problems, and communicate effectively. Mathematical literacy can provide individuals with a number of benefits, including the ability to make better decisions, develop problem-solving skills, and communicate more effectively. By developing their mathematical literacy, individuals can unlock the possibilities of a brighter future.
